Branch Starndard Bearer: George Worthington

Above:

Meet George Worthington, Standard Bearer for the Nottingham Branch of The Parachute Regimental Association. George served with the 33rd Parachute Light Artillery Regiment, and lives in Beeston. As you would expect, he is a regular attendee of the branch, with a great sence of humour.

(Top photo was taken in Beeston at the homecoming of 170 Engineers, based at Chetwynd Barracks, Chilwell. Check out the young man's t-shirt, a future Para in the making.

Above photo was taken at Pompey Para's at South Sea. The Southern Airborne Forces Day, during July 2011).

Bill's favorite passtime when not involved in Branch duties is with his 1960s VW Camper. He belongs to a VW Club and has owned his VW for well over 30 years and enjoys weekends away with like minded members when not attending Branch events. The above photo was taken at the Stapleford Carnival in September 2015.

Bill also gets involved each year with the 3 PARA reunion club and attends the weekends with his wife Meryl and other Branch members from 3 PARA, including Frank Wheatley and his wife Jean.
